For effective communication vocabulary is very important.Many people have limited vocabulary as a result their language is full of repetitions.Due to lack of word power they fail to describe things properly.When they write an essay or an article it fails create an impact because of poor vocabulary.Thus poor vocabulary is a great handicap in day to day life.Poor vocabulary is often the result of carelessness in matter learning new words.Whenever you come across a new word it is necessary to look for its meaning in dictionary.Many people have bad habit of skipping unfamiliar words.Those who are indifferent to unfamiliar words can never improve their word power.If you are in the job of a writer your vocabulary is supposed to be above average.Even while reading a fiction,short story or a novel you must underline unfamiliar words with a pencil and after reading a few pages you should note down the meanings carefully.Writing down meanings is not enough.In order to be remembered a word has to be used repeatedly in sentences.While writing letters /sending e-mail messages to your relatives try to use as words which you have learnt recently.
